Lakuti has unveiled a new playlist for BBC's Music Life series, called Shebeen Queens in South Africa.
Her selections celebrate "the unsung South African women who provided spaces for Black musicians to flourish in times when things were not so open to them."
The playlist features music by Letta Mbulu, Dorothy Masuka, Abigail Kubheka, Thandie Klassens, Miriam Makeba, and Dolly Rathebe, as well as an original track by Lakuti and Tama Sumo.
