Mendel's Ciranda

From humble beginnings as a party at Noorderlicht many moons ago, Ciranda has grown into a beautiful party co-created by a community of like-minded dance floor enthusiasts from all walks of life. The concept of the party is fairly simple: Mendel invites a guest dj, and they play the party as they see fit. There is an optional shared meal at the start of the event, where everyone is welcome. And there is a lot of diy - from making the artwork to crafting the decorations, to constructing a dj booth on wheels - things are homemade, often with help from the community.

During the pandemic, Mendel kept spirits up with debauched streaming parties on Zoom that saw friends from all over the world getting dressed up to dance and chat for hours on end. The pandemic was also the birth of the Ciranda Picnics - dubbed the world's most wholesome illegal raves. Ciranda now has a home at Doka, where we come together every couple of months for a Sunday session (sharing a meal at Canvas beforehand).

Sign up to the newsletter or join the Ciranda Facebook group to be the first to hear about new dates, get first dibs on early bird tickets, and to be overwhelmed with loveliness. Mendel has also put together a Ciranda Classics Spotify Playlist to keep your feet dancing between events.
